As many of you already know, our house is on the market. It has been super nice to have grandparents nearby, but we are eager to move back to North Forsyth / Dawsonville. Coleson and I have been struggling with this decision for several months now and we both believe the time is right and God is calling us back "home." We are very excited to be closer to Mountain Lake, especially now that Coleson is working there. We love the church and being a part of helping disconnected people, as it was only three short years ago that we were the lost sheep.
Here's a quick version of some of the "crazy God things" (Coleson's term and I think it sums everything up wonderfully) that brought us to this decision. After a particular quiet time and some journeling in March, I felt very called back to Mountain Lake. I won't go into the details, but I believe there's so much more we can do and it's hard to invest in people when you can't have them over for dinner or easily meet for a cup of coffee or hot chocolate. And just a few days later, Coleson's job responsibilities changed for the better- marketing, communications, basically the business end of the church. He's very happy about the change and using his master's degree, and we're eager to be closer to his job. There are plenty of times he could come home for a few minutes (Sunday afternoons in between services, before evening events, occasional lunches, etc), but it's just too far now. It will be nice to be able to see him more often and for him to have some nice breaks. And we are excited about really getting to know and invest in his volunteers and co-workers; we love to have people over and host growth groups and other things, so be ready to hang out with us at our new place.
Despite our past record, we are really tired of moving, so we are looking for somewhere to settle for a long time. We are excited about Ryan growing up in the church and making little friends there and playing little league and all the things kids do. Even though it's feasible to drive 30 minutes to do this, I believe we will be so much more connected and involved if we are right there doing life with everyone. In addition, we are looking at more affordable houses so I can continue to stay at home with Ryan. While babysitting currently helps make ends meet, we know that will only get harder as we look into the future and having more children.
We are attempting to follow God's direction and do what is best for our new family. Please pray for us and our house sale! And also that our new place will be a home where Ryan can grow up and we can have lots of happy times and great memories.
